HOW TO PLAY:
Performers: Between 4/28/08 at 12:00 a.m. Central Standard Time (CST) and 5/11/08 at 11:59 p.m. CST (the “Performer Entry Period”), go to chevyessence.com, complete an official electronic entry form, and submit a 30 second solo a cappella audio-only recording of one of the seven specified songs listed on the site. Audio recording must be submitted as an mp3. Limit one (1) entry and recording per person. Multiple entries by an individual entrant will disqualify all entries submitted by that individual. Only official online entry forms may be used. Every question on the form must be answered, and the solo a cappella submission must meet the designated in the directions on the website. Contestants may only use the lyrics provided on the website. Any recording with language considered profane or crude by the Administrator will disqualify the recording. No other method of entry is permitted. No mechanically reproduced or facsimile entries allowed except at Administrator’s sole discretion. All entries and audio submissions become Sponsor’s property and will not be returned.

WINNER SELECTION:
Performers: Fifteen (15) semi-finalist winners, three from each participating market (Houston, New Orleans/Baton Rouge, St. Louis, Memphis, and Dallas/Ft. Worth), will be selected by the Administrator from all eligible entries received. Judging and semi-finalist selection will be conducted by the Administrator on or about 5/14/08. Judging will be based on four areas of performance: Hitting the correct notes, conveying the emotion of the song, singing the lyrics correctly as provided and giving the song a personal style. Semi-finalist recordings will be available on the Chevy Essence web site for finalist voting open to the public from 5/19/08 and 6/8/08.

Voters: Four Finalists (see prize description for details) will be determined by the voters. Votes can be cast between 5/19/08 at 12:00 a.m. CST and 6/8/08 at 11:59 p.m. CST (the “Voter Entry Period”), at chevyessence.com, by completing an official electronic entry form and indicating which of the fifteen (15) semi-finalists’ performances you like best. Every required question on the form must be answered, except for the vote selection, which is optional. Limit one (1) official voter entry per person. Multiple Official entries by an individual entrant will disqualify all entries submitted by that individual. Up to three bonus votes can be secured by correctly answering trivia questions related to the Chevy Malibu and Essence Music Festival found on the entry site. Your chosen performer will receive one vote for each question you correctly answer. You may answer the trivia questions once. You will not be able to change which performer the votes will be counted for. Any attempt to circumvent this limitation may result in disqualification, at the Sponsor’s sole discretion. You may also obtain up to five bonus entries into the drawing for the 100 $50 Visa Gifts Cards for each friend that you refer to the game site. To refer friends follow the onscreen instructions. If more than one person refers the same friend, only the first referral received will be counted. The four submissions with the most votes, regardless of region, in the Voter Entry Period will be selected as the Finalists. The Finalists must be available to perform their songs on July 3 or 4, in New Orleans. If a Potential Finalist can not attend the contest on July 3 or 4, an alternate finalist will be chosen, time permitting. The potential finalists will be notified by either telephone or e-mail and must claim their prize within 48 hours of the notification. The potential finalists and their traveling companions must complete an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release within 72 hours of notification or prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner, time permitting. (Alternates will be chosen based on the number of votes they received during the Voter Entry period.)

The Grand Prize Winner (see prize description below) will be chosen by a panel of judges in New Orleans during the Essence Music Festival on July 5, 2008 after all Finalists have performed their song a cappella. Finalists will be given only one chance to perform for the judges. The judging criteria will include: Hitting the correct notes, Conveying the emotion of the song, Singing the lyrics correctly as provided, giving the song a personal style and stage presence. Once a winner is selected the contest is over.

Voters: One hundred (100) Voter prize winners (see prize description below) will be selected in a random drawing conducted on or about 6/10/08 from among all eligible entries received. Random drawing will be conducted by Administrator. The potential winners must complete and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability and Publicity Release within seven days of notification or the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner, time permitting.

Total ARV of all prizes awarded: $34,795

All prize details not specified herein shall be at Administrator’s sole discretion. No prize substitutions, transfers or cash alternatives permitted, except Administrator reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the advertised prize becomes unavailable. All decisions of the Sponsor and Administrator are final in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Odds of winning Grand Prize depend on the total number of eligible entries received.

Grand Prize winner is solely responsible for any expenses in connection with the vehicle not expressly described herein as being awarded including, without limitation, the following: (i) all taxes, including but not limited to income, federal, state and local taxes; (ii) all meals and gratuities on July 5-6, 2008 (iii) vehicle sales tax, title and license; (iv) insurance, registration fees, delivery charges, dealer preparation fee and/or additional options, additions or equipment; and (v) any additional expenses not described herein as being awarded.
